Smart Meter Portal Not So Smart!

Well, now that COMED has finally made the SMART METER readings available to those who have them, via an online portal, it looks like neither either the Smart Meters or the web portal are not all that smart!

============================================================

To Whom It May Concern;

Why is my SmarterMeter power usage panel missing complete days at http://comed.opower.com

Specifically:

1. many readings are not populated until several day AFTER the power has been consumed.
2. some days are missing alltogether.

As you can clearly see in the above picture:

Saturday, 7 Aug is missing completely
Sunday, 8 Aug is missing completely
Monday 9 Aug is missing completely
Tuesday 10 Aug is missing completely
Wednesday 11 Aug is missing completely

In my billing of 9 JULY through 6 AUG online history, everything from from Sat 31 Jul through Friday 6 Aug is missing on the portal at http://comed.opower.com

Here is an image taken directly from the website at http://comed.opower.com showing those missing days:

We are members of American Solar Energy Society [ASES], and they, along with many local solar energy groups, are watching ComEd's smart meter project and the subsequent entry into solor power on 100 selected homes with great interest, both as observers and as applicants.

Unfortunately, many at ASES, along with ourselves, are quicly loosing confidence in ComEd's capability to accurately take 1/2 hour meter readings and populate them in REAL TIME, to both your billing department and to the end user's with SmartMeters.

My ComEd account number is XXXXXXXXXX
My SmartMeter number is XXXXXXXXX

In as much as we are potentially interested in both RATE BASED BILLING and PASSIVE SOLAR ELECTRICITY, we are anxious to be able to see, IN REAL TIME, both our USAGE and BILLING, via the web interface at http://comed.opower.com, neither WE, nor the AMERICAN SOLAR ENERGY SOCIETY will consider COMED to be serious with regards to true smart metering and your commitment to solar energy.

You have the ability to take those readings, AND MAKE THEM AVAILABLE IN REAL TIME, via the portal at http://comed.opower.com, please clean up the problems with your polling, your web servers and any other portion of your computer network which might inhibiting the ability of this feature to work properly.

PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND WITH A CANNED ANSWER OR FORM LETTER. All correspondence regarding this matter will be shared with both the AMERICAN SOLAR ENERGY SOCIETY and CITIZENS UTILITY BOARD.

I look forward to hearing your response to this matter.
